Shipping Information

 

Can you ship me wine?

Currently, we can ship UPS ground to customers in Idaho, Washington and California. Our customer service and sales staff is available from 12PM-6:30PM (PDT),  Tuesday - Saturday to provide more information. Please give us call or send us an email if your state is not listed.

Our wine products can also be purchased through Vino Shipper, who are currently able to ship to about 25 states.

Since July of 2006, when the US Supreme Court required all states to treat in-state and out-of-state wineries the same, there have been tremendous changes. For instance, many states (the old 13 reciprocal shipping states), now are requiring licensing of out-of-state wineries and the posting of tax bonds.  Some states have set license fees so high (Connecticut is $1,000 per year) that  out-of-state wineries, like us, choose not to become licensed.  Other states (example Louisiana) have decided to forbid their in-state wineries from shipping out. Finally, some states have chosen to  be intentionally hard to deal with. For example,  one large eastern state not only has a license fee, a bond
deposit,  but also requires other states to change their state shipping laws to match the unnamed states laws. 

 

What about non-wine items?

All non-wine items can be shipped anywhere within the U.S.

 

Why do wine shipments require a signature?

In order to ensure that illegal deliveries aren’t made to underage individuals, freight companies require an adult signature (21 and older). Furthermore, their drivers are instructed to disregard signature releases. We always recommend shipping to a business address or location where an adult is likely to be available during business hours.

 

Do I pay sales tax?

All orders are subject to Idaho sales tax of 6%. Some states, such as California, also require us to collect their sales  and excise taxes in addition to our own.

Are rush orders possible?

Yes, at whatever higher shipping rate applies from UPS or Fed EX.

 
Can I enclose a gift card or customize a message on a label?
Yes, call us at 800-616-0214, 12 - 6:30pm PST Tuesday thru Saturday or send us an email with the message you want on the card or label.  Check the custom label samples page for the amount of message space available.
